German business confidence stays strong ahead of election

German business morale dipped slightly in August but stayed close to last month's all-time high, a closely-watched survey said on Aug. 25, adding to a run of good news for Europe's powerhouse economy ahead of a general election.

The Munich-based Ifo institute said its business confidence index fell to 115.9 points this month after reaching an all-time peak of 116 points in July.

Turkish economic confidence hits four-year high

Confidence in Turkey's economy hit its highest level since November 2013, according to official data released on July 28, underscoring the economy's resilience following the July 15 coup attempt last year.      
The economic confidence index increased by 4.5 percent to 103.4 points in July, up from 98.9 points in June, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) said in a report.

Confidence in Turkey's economy has risen in April, hitting its highest level since December 2015, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK).      
  
The Economic Confidence Index rose from March by 3.6 percentage points to 99.5 points in April, TÜİK said in a statement on April 27.        

Turkey's consumer confidence bounces back in March

Turkey's consumer confidence index rose in March, according to a report released by the Turkish Statistics Institute (TÜİK) on March 23.

The index rose from 65.7 points in February to 67.8 points in March, up by 2.1 points or 3.2 percent, according to the report.        

The index indicates a pessimistic outlook and would need to rise above 100 to reflect optimism.
