Turkey's economic confidence slips around 4 pct in January

Turkey's economic confidence regressed to 85.7 in January with a 3.9 percent decrease compared to the previous month, data from the Turkish Statistics Institute showed on Jan. 30. 

The decrease in the economic confidence index mainly stemmed from the decline in services, real sector, construction and retail trade confidence indices. 

Consumer confidence index increases in January

Turkey's economic confidence index increased month-on-month in January, according to an official data released on Jan. 23.

The index was up by 5.6 percent to 66.9 compared to last month, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) said in a report.      

The financial situation expectations of households index also increased by 2.9 percent reaching 87.9 since December.      

Turkish economic confidence rebounds after six-month low

Turkey's economic confidence rose more than 20 percent in September, recovering from a six-month low hit in August, data from the Turkish Statistics Institute (TÜİK) showed on Sept. 29.
The index was at 87.8 in September, after falling to 72.7 in August, the data showed. The index indicates an optimistic economic outlook when above 100 and a pessimistic one when below 100.

Consumer confidence in decline

Consumer confidence declined to its lowest point in three-and-a-half years in April, which the Foundation for Economic and Industrial Research (IOBE) attributes to the high levels of uncertainty resulting from the ongoing bailout review and the social security and tax reform bills.

Turkish economic confidence rebounds in March

Confidence in the Turkish economy has rebounded sharply in March after a three-month decline, according to official data released on March 25.

The Economic Confidence index rose 9.5 percent compared with the previous month, from 71.46 points in February to 78.27 points in March, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜ?K) said in a report.
