Confidence in economy fell in June

 

The economic confidence index declined by 2.5 percent in June from May after rising in the previous two months.

The index was 101.1 in June, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) said on June 23.

Any figure above the 100 mark indicates an optimistic outlook regarding the general economic situation.

Consumer confidence plunges in June

The consumer confidence index declined by 6.5 percent month-on-month to 85.1 in June, after improving in the two previous months, data have shown.

Any index figure above the 100-mark indicates optimism among consumers.

All main sub-indices in the consumer tendency survey, carried out jointly by the Central Bank and the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), fell in June.

Confidence in economy improves

The economic confidence index advanced 3.5 percent in April from March, data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) have shown.

The index climbed from 98.8 in March to 102.2 in April, which marked the index's highest level since October 2021.

The index was down 0.2 percent month-on-month in March.

Consumer confidence rises 9 percent

The consumer confidence index has advanced by 9.2 percent on a monthly basis, rising from 80.1 in March to 87.5 in April, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) has reported

Confidence in economy improved
