More than 500,000 animals have been killed in wildfires in Australia, NOVA reports.
The accounts are from environmentalists at the University of Sydney, published by Evening Standard.

Turkey marks centenary of Atatürk's arrival in Ankara
Turkey on Dec. 27 commemorated the centenary of the arrival of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey, in the capital Ankara.
The commemoration events started at Anıtkabir, the mausoleum of Atatürk, with the attendance of top officials. Ankara Governor Vasip Sahin laid a wreath on Atatürk's tomb.

Slovenia gradually reaching point of saturation in tourism

Bothered by the crowd and high prices, people have even started moving out of the city centre.
Venice's Historic Centre is Underwater again
About 60 percent of Venice's historic centre is underwater again. The level of tidal waves from the lagoon, in which the Italian city is located, reached 144 centimeters.
There have been about 20 similar cases in the recent history of the city, but in recent years these phenomena have become more frequent.
