A devastating fire has broken out at the iconic Stock Exchange building in the heart of Copenhagen, Denmark's capital. The historic structure, dating back to the 17th century, stands as one of the oldest and most cherished landmarks in the city.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned the burning of a Quran in Denmark and urged the Danish authorities to take action to stop these attacks against the Muslims' holy book.

"We condemn in the strongest terms the repeated vile attacks against our holy book, the Quran, in Copenhagen," read the statement issued late on July 24.

The famed Danish restaurant Noma which has claimed the title of world's top restaurant several times said on Jan. 9 it will shut down to transform itself into "a pioneering test kitchen" dedicated to "food innovation and the development of new flavors."

Denmark has temporarily resumed border checks at its border with Sweden for six months after a series of serious crimes in Copenhagen and its surroundings, which according to Danish authorities were carried out by criminals from Sweden, the AP reported.

Police say an explosion outside a neighborhood police station in the Danish capital, Copenhagen, has damaged the outside of the building but there were no injuries.

At least two people attacked Turkey's embassy in Copenhagen with petrol bombs early on Monday causing some minor damage to the exterior of the building but no injuries, police in the Danish capital said, Reuters.

The building was empty at the time. 

Police were at the scene investigating and no one had been arrested, a police official told Reuters
