Authorities call for caution amid rise in Covid-19 cases
As the European Union raised the risk of the coronavirus, or Covid-19, from moderate to high, and with the number of cases in Greece rising to seven over the weekend, authorities have stepped up a public information campaign as part of their efforts to ward against a spread of the virus.
Forty-two in institutional quarantine, 9,431 monitored at home for coronavirus in Romania
As many as 42 people are currently in institutional quarantine in Romania nationwide, and 9,431 are monitored at home for the novel coronavirus. According to a press statement released by the Strategic Communication Group, three people have been so far diagnosed with COVID-19 in Romania, one of whom was declared cured after testing negative.

Liberation of Bulgaria Celebrations on Shipka Peak Cancelled over Coronavirus Risk
Tomorrow's official ritual commemorating the 142nd anniversary of the liberation of Bulgaria on Shipka peak is being cancelled on the recommendation of the national operational headquarters for countering the spread of the novel coronavirus.

Finance Minister Christos Staikouras on Monday expressed concerns about the potential impact on the economy from the new coronavirus outbreak, which made its appearance in Greece last week, but said that steps are being taken to contain it from spreading further.
New Three Countries with First Cases of COVID-19
A new three countries have registered the first case of COVID-19 coronavirus in their territories. These are Portugal, Iceland and Andorra.
Portugal has registered the first two cases of coronavirus on its territory today, with one of the infected recently traveling to Italy and the other returning from Spain. The two were admitted to a hospital in the city of Porto.

G-7 Finance Ministers to Hold an Emergency Discussion over the Coronavirus
G-7 finance ministers in the euro area will hold a conference call Wednesday to "coordinate their responses" to the impact of the coronavirus on the global economy, said French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire.
"We will have that meeting by phone—because you need to avoid travelling too much - for the G7 to coordinate its response," Le Maire told France 2 television.
