Finland has announced that the country registered its first case of infection with the new coronavirus, world agencies have reported. The infected woman is a Chinese traveller who arrived from Wuhan.

The tourist is said to be a female aged 32 and in relatively good health.

Greek tourism is on alert and trying to assess the possible impact on the sector from the coronavirus outbreak in China, after receiving almost 200,000 Chinese visitors last year, according to provisional estimates.

The women returned from China and Thailand.

Two Bulgarian women are under special surveillance until it is confirmed that they do not suffer from a coronavirus. One was in China and the other was back from Thailand.

Greek health authorities on Tuesday stepped up preparations for dealing with the possible appearance of a deadly new coronavirus that has killed at least 132 people and infected thousands in China since its outbreak earlier this month.

There have been no cases of coronavirus infections in Greece, the Medical Association of Athens (ISA) said Tuesday.

The association said it is closely monitoring the spread of the virus from China and the transmissions reported in the US, Asia and Europe.

The first case of a person infected with the new type coronavirus has been confirmed in Germany. The patient is a man from the Starnberg region of Bavaria, some 30 km southwest of Munich. He is in stable condition.

On Monday, Canadian health authorities confirmed two cases in the country. The patients are a man and a woman, a laboratory in Winnipeg confirmed.

China has the necessary capabilities and resources to defeat the pneumonia caused by the new type of coronavirus, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said today at a meeting with the leader of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adanu Ghebreyesus.

Another Bulgarian is in the city of Wuhan - the heart of the coronavirus epidemic. This was reported to bTV by Vladislav Spasov, temporarily managing the Bulgarian Embassy in Beijing,

Greek health authorities are stepping up measures to deal with the possible appearance of a deadly new coronavirus that has killed at least 100 people and infected thousands in China since its outbreak earlier this month.

Amid the coronavirus outbreak, Turkey on Jan. 27 urged its citizens not to travel China unless it is necessary.

"It is highly recommended that our citizens do not travel to China unless it is necessary and if they travel there, they should stay away from the regions where the [coronavirus] cases are seen, especially in Hubei province," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
