Greek startup Coffe-eco is developing cosmetics and packaging (containers) from espresso grounds, having discovered an extraction method that utilizes the antioxidant actions and nutrients of many people's favorite daily drink.

Greek startup makes cosmetics out of coffee residue
Greek startup Coffee-eco, based in the western city of Patra, produces sunscreen, lip balm, face scrub, and anti-aging and moisturizing creams from coffee residue.
The effort got the attention of coffee chain Coffee Island, which has invested €400,000 in the startup, allowing it to set up a factory in Patra's industrial zone to produce its AuraSkin line of cosmetics.
70 pct of cosmetic products unsafe: Ministry
The Health Ministry has determined that 70 percent of cosmetic products, including mosquito repellent and disinfectants, are unsafe and against the legislation.

Retail sector reopens for first time since November
Retail stores, hair salons and car inspection stations (KTEO) reopened to the public on Monday for the first time since the start of the second lockdown in early November, but measures to prevent the spread of the pandemic remain in place.
Cosmetics turnover set to fall 11%
Greek cosmetics firms are expected to show an 11% decline in turnover at the end of the year, ending a growth run that itself had followed seven lean years during the financial crisis.
According to data by market research firm ICAP, total turnover for Greek cosmetics firms will reach 772 million euros, in wholesale prices, from €867 million in 2019.

Forbes: Kylie Jenner is Not a Billionaire and Has Presented False Information
Forbes magazine has struck reality TV star and entrepreneur Kylie Jenner from its list of billionaires, and accused her family of inflating the value of her cosmetics business.
Forbes said the family went to "unusual lengths" to present its youngest member as richer than she was.
In tweets, Jenner dismissed the article as "inaccurate statements and unproven assumptions lol".
