Eight Babies Were Killed in a Hospital Fire
Eight babies were killed in a fire in a maternity ward at a hospital in eastern Algeria.
The fire broke out about 4:00 am this morning at a hospital in the city of El Oued Souf about 500 km southeast of the capital Algeria. The firefighters rescued 11 babies and 107 patients and 28 staff, according to Fire ChiefCaptain Nassim Bernaoui

Greece says 1985 hijacking arrest a mistake, suspect freed
Greek authorities said early on Tuesday that the arrest of a Lebanese man on suspicion of participation in a TWA flight hijacking in 1985 was a case of mistaken identity.
The 65-year-old was released without charges and was being put up at a hotel on the Aegean Sea island of Syros, where he had been detained the past four days, a police statement said.

Police in Oraiokastro, near Thessaloniki, on Tuesday were seeking the perpetrators behind the shooting of a 32-year-old man who had been on his way to work as a security guard the night before on his bicycle.
Over 3,400 migrants reached Greece in September
A total of 3,469 migrants arrived at Greece's northern Aegean islands from the start of September till Friday morning, according to figures published by the region's general police directorate.
Breaking down the numbers, 2,078 foreign nationals arrived on Lesvos, 589 on Chios and 802 on Samos since September 1.

Ministry plans to improve links to remote islands
The Shipping Ministry is reportedly mulling plans to improve ferry services to remote Greek islands through increased funding and a better licensing framework so that routes are carried out with better ships.
It will also seek ways to ensure that replacement vessels are always available in case of emergency.

Hundreds of migrants arrive on Lesvos
Hundreds of migrants arrived on the eastern Aegean islands of Lesvos over the weekend and in the early hours of Monday, official figures showed.
A total of 227 migrants landed on the island between midnight on Sunday and 9.30 a.m. on Monday, according to the police headquarters for the northern Aegean, with another 228 reaching Lesvos from neighborign Turkey on Saturday and Sunday.
