A 24-year-old man was to face a prosecutor on Sunday on the island of Lefkada, just off the coast of northwestern Greece, after allegedly hitting a 43-year-old motorcyclist on Saturday evening with his pickup truck while under the influence of alcohol before fleeing the scene.

More migrants land on Greek islands
A total of 149 migrants and refugees landed on Wednesday on Greece's eastern Aegean islands, authorities said.
Of those, 67 reached Samos, 41 Lesvos, and 41 Chios.
Authorities said another 87 people had landed on Lesvos and 41 on Samos by 3 p.m. on Thursday.

More firefighters sent to Nea Makri blaze
A large wildfire that broke out in a coastal town in east Attica continued to rage for a second day on Thursday, with more firemen sent to ensure no new fronts would ignite.
Some houses were evacuated as a precaution, according to fire service spokesman Vasilis Vathrakoyiannis.

The condition of the wounded Serb from Kosovska Mitrovica stable
Milan Ivanovic, CEO of Kosovska Mitrovica Health Center told Tanjug.
"After being stabbed in the left lumbar region and lower chest, he was urgently operated due to heavy bleeding. The bleeding has stopped and he is now in intensive care unit", Ivanovic told Tanjug news agency.
