Ten more persons infected with COVID-19 die taking death toll to 790

Ten more persons infected with the novel coronavirus have passed away, taking the death toll of the deceased to 790, on Sunday informed the Strategic Communication Group (GCS). The latest dead persons are from the counties of Suceava (male, 60, male, 66, male, 71, female, 85, female, 82), Galati (male, 77), Dambovita (female, 61), Covasna (male, 60), Brasov (female, 88), Olt (female, 54).

Health Ministry: 153 medical, auxiliary staff confirmed with COVID19

A number of 153 medical staff and auxiliary staff are confirmed with COVID-19 at national level, according to the data reported from the territory to the National Center for Transmitted Disease Supervision and Control within the National Institute of Public Health. According to information from the Ministry of Health, 70 of them are doctors and 50 nurses.

Four new cases of COVID-19,including a man returning from the US; 79 cases confirmed in Romania

Four more cases of novel coronavirus infection have been confirmed in Romania, namely two in Covasna and two in Brasov. According to the Strategic Communication Group, one of the four persons is a 44-year-old man from Brasov who returned from Boston, the U.S., on 11 March, who was admitted with specific symptomatology the following day.

Code Yellow for Floods in Covasna, Brasov and Buzau counties

Bucharest, Aug 18 /Agerpres/ - The National Institute of Hydrology and Water Management issued on Saturday afternoon a Code Yellow for Floods in the Covasna, Brasov and Buzau counties, valid until 11:00 pm.

According to hydrologists, due to the rainfall there is potential local flooding effects and increase in flows and levels of rivers, in the counties of Covasna, Brasov and Buzau.

'Szekely Land' autonomy arbitration request denied in Strasbourg

A request for arbitration in relation to the autonomy of the 'Szekely Land' in Romania demanded by several local councils from the counties of Covasna, Harghita and Mures was denied on Tuesday in Strasbourg by the Monitoring Committee of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities (CLRA) of the Council of Europe.
