Greece loosens COVID Measures for the Summer

No takeaways in Athens, Thessaloniki, Halkidiki
Takeaway service from restaurants and cafes will not be permitted in Athens, Thessaloniki and the regional unit of Halkidiki Sunday and throughout next weekend, it was announced Saturday.
Delivery services will operate as usual, the Ministry of Development said.

Experts in Greece worried about new rise in cases as EU threatens AstraZeneca with export ban
As supply problems continue to hamper vaccination campaigns in the European Union, health authorities in Greece have expressed intense concern over the latest epidemiological data, which show a rise in coronavirus infections in the last two days while there are increasing indications that the British variant of Covid-19 may have made inroads in northern Greece as well, after Athens and Crete.
New virus infections rise to 928, 405 remain intubated
The number of new SARS-CoV-2 infections climbed to 928 on Tuesday which brought the overall number to 141,453, the National Organization for Public Health (EODY) said in its daily bulletin.
Thirty-one of the new cases were identified at the country's entry points.
First vaccinations in Greece on Sunday afternoon
The first vaccinations against the coronavirus in Greece are expected to take place Sunday, starting with an intensive care unit nurse.
Efstathia Kambissiouli will be vaccinated at 1 p.m. at central Athens' Evangelismos hospital, followed half an hour later by Michalis Giovanidis, a nursing home resident.
