Kosovo has Become the Leader in Vaccination in the Western Balkans

Kosovo is the country with the largest share of receiving at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine in the Western Balkans. Turkey lowers vaccine eligibility age, receives more doses of Sinovac's vaccine

Turkey has lowered the COVID-19 vaccination eligibility age to 30, the health minister announced on June 19.

A new batch of the Pfizer BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine consisting of 964,080 doses is being brought to Romania today, according to the National COVID-19 Vaccination Coordination Committee (CNCAV). The vaccines will be delivered by air and will reach the airports of Otopeni, Cluj-Napoca and Timisoara. Shipment to storage centres is provided by the manufacturing company, including by land.

Turkey grants emergency authorization to Russia's Sputnik V vaccine

Turkey's official Medicines and Medical Devices Agency said on April 30 that Turkey has granted emergency use authorization to Russia's Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine.

"Emergency use of Sputnik V vaccine was approved following the assessments and evaluations by our Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency," Fahrettin Koca said on Twitter.

Serbia Vaccinates Thousands from Region Over Weekend

Some 8,500 business people from all over the Western Balkan region got their first vaccine jab against COVID-19 in Serbia over the weekend

The remarkable initiative was organised by the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia whose head, Marko Cadez, told national broadcaster Radio Television of Serbia RTS that the action will be repeated.
