COVID-19 vaccination in Fiji

Conspiracy theories, security concerns, threat downplaying or simply rebellion - whatever the reasons for refusing to be vaccinated against COVID-19, they seem to have found fertile ground in the Balkans to take root.

In England, the deadline for compulsory vaccination of workers in social care homes expires today. However, thousands are still not fully vaccinated and may lose their jobs, Sky News reports.

More and more citizens are willing to get the vaccine, according to the findings of a new survey by diANEOsis, in collaboration with the polling company Metron Analysis, which recorded the attitudes and views of Greeks, in the period 5-14 October 2021, for vaccinations and the effects of the pandemic on their lives.

Turkish medical experts have urged the public to exercise caution and remain vigilant against the threats from the newly found COVID-19 strain, Omicron, as in winter months people are likely to be more exposed to risks.

There are more than 40 provinces in Turkey where the vaccination drive is moving slow, the country's health minister has said, urging once again people to get their vaccines against COVID-19.

A total of 791,141 people have been fully vaccinated in the Republic of North Macedonia by October 4th, and 425 have received a third booster dose, the country's health ministry announced on Tuesday, MIA reported.
