Turkey lowers coronavirus vaccine eligibility age to 40
Turkey has lowered the vaccine eligibility age to 40, the Turkish health minister announced on June 13.
"If you are 40 or older, you can make an appointment as of this morning. We expect 100% participation," Fahrettin Koca wrote on Twitter.
Koca said earlier that nearly 450,000 coronavirus vaccine doses were administrated on June 12.
Food sector, hairdressers added to vaccine priority groups
Turkey has added new group of professionals, including people working in the eatery sector, drivers, lawyers and barbers, to its vaccination program that has been gaining momentum lately.
This week citizens aged 45 and older already started receiving their COVID-19 injections, while the vaccinations of people over the age of 40 will begin early next week.

Romania's National COVID-19 Vaccination Coordination Committee (CNCAV) has reported that in the last 24 hours, 41,554 doses of vaccine were administered, of which 28,383 doses of the Pfizer vaccine, 2,648 of the Moderna vaccine, 1,413 of the AstraZeneca vaccine and 9,110 of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Over 27 mln COVID-19 vaccine shots given in Turkey
Turkey has administered over 27 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine since the launch of a mass vaccination campaign on Jan. 14, according to official figures.
As of May 22, more than 15.87 million people have received their first doses, while over 11.87 million have been fully vaccinated, according to the Health Ministry data.
