Romania reports 16,411 adverse events following immunisation in over 4.5 million vaccinated persons

Chairman of Romania's National COVID-19 Vaccination Coordination Committee (CNCAV) Valeriu Gheorghita said on Tuesday that as of June 14, 16,411 adverse events following immunisation (AEFI) were reported, which means an AEFI reporting rate of about 1.9 per 1,000 doses administered in more than 4.5 million vaccinated people, of which over 4.2 million fully vaccinated.

Gov't to turn AstraZeneca vaccination centres into Pfizer centres, increase immunisation capabilities

Prime Minister Florin Citu announced on Friday in Cluj-Napoca that Romania's COVID-19 vaccination capabilities will soon increase as some AstraZeneca vaccination centres will turn into Pfizer vaccination centres and more vaccination sites will open with companies.

Vaccines Studies Expended, Mix and Match Effects Further Assessed

A study assessing the benefits of mixing and matching coronavirus vaccines has been extended to include the Moderna and Novavax jabs.

The Com-Cov study, led by the University of Oxford, has been investigating the immune responses of volunteers given a dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine followed by the Pfizer jab - and vice versa.

AstraZeneca Roll-out Restricted to People over 30 – Great Britain

British medical regulators restricted the roll-out of the AstraZeneca/Oxford vaccine to people aged over 30 on Wednesday, dpa reported. The British Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) said people aged 18 to 29 who do not have an underlying health condition will now be recommended other vaccines instead.

Anti-COVID vaccination campaign / 49,386 people - immunized in last 24 hours

The National Committee for anti-COVID Vaccination (CNCAV) informs that in the last 24 hours there were 49,386 vaccine doses administered, among which 39,991 - Pfizer, 5,847 - AstraZeneca and 3,548 - Moderna, according to the data released by the National Institute of Public Health (INSP) through the National Electronic Vaccine Registry.

PM Citu: Problematic batch from AstraZeneca - not distributed in Romania

Bucharest, March 11 /Agerpres/ - Prime Minister Florin Citu said on Thursday that AstraZeneca vaccines distributed in Romania are not part of the problematic batch from Austria, following which several countries have suspended immunization with this type of serum, stressing that vaccination will continue at the same pace and the appointments for the third stage will start on March 15.
