Romania's COVID-19 daily case count rises by 628; tests performed in last 24 hours: over 38,000

As many as 628 new cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 in Romania were recorded in the last 24 hours following 38,000 tests nationwide, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the official novel coronavirus communication task force, reported on Friday. These are cases of patients that have not previously tested positive.

Turkey to impose mandatory PCR tests for some sectors

Turkey will begin requiring negative COVID-19 test results and proofs of vaccination for some sectors, including from teachers as schools reopen next month and for domestic travel.

As many as 541 new cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 in Romania were recorded in the last 24 hours following 32,000 tests nationwide, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the official novel coronavirus communication task force, reported on Thursday. These are cases of patients that have not previously tested positive.

Positivity rate remains high as 381 new cases of coronavirus confirmed

Ljubljana – Slovenia confirmed 381 new cases of coronavirus on Wednesday, down slightly from the three-month high registered on the day before. The positivity rate remained high, at 17%, show data released by the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ).

The positive cases came from 2,235 PCR tests. An additional 21,583 rapid antigen tests were performed as well.

84 Percent Test Positive for Delta Variant of Covid-19

Out of 85 samples tested at the National Centre for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases (NCIPD), the Delta variant of Covid-19 was identified in 84 (99%). The Alpha variant was detected in 1 of the sequenced samples.

The samples were taken from Covid-19 patients in 26 medical establishments from 18 districts in the country in the period 8-28 July 2021.

Slovenia with highest daily count in new infections since 25 May

Ljubljana – From a total of 2,228 PCR tests analysed in Slovenia on Tuesday, 385 came back positive for coronavirus, up 67 from Monday. The positivity rate rose by 1.8 points to 17.3%, the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ) said on Wednesday. This is the highest daily tally of new confirmed Covid-19 cases in the country since 25 May.
