India asks states to declare epidemic; A new contagious disease has reached Russia

The dangerous fungus began to spread throughout Indian hospitals among COVID-19 patients, due to their overcrowded facilities as a consequence of the coronavirus pandemic, but also due to poor hygiene and poor health conditions. Majority of Covid vaccination side effects mild and expected

Ljubljana – The National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ) has received more than 5,000 reports of side effects after 586,000 people have been vaccinated with one dose and 306,000 with both jabs in Slovenia. However, only 77 of the reported side effects were serious, such as death and vein thrombosis or the need for hospitalisation for various reasons.

Almost 360 coronavirus cases reported for Wednesday, seven deaths

Ljubljana – Slovenia saw 358 people test positive for coronavirus on Wednesday, while the 7-day average of new cases dropped below 300, government data show. Seven patients with Covid-19 died.

Over 3,850 PCR tests were performed, of which 9.3% came back positive, as almost 28,870 people were screened with rapid tests but all positives are subject to PCR tests.

Turkey seals deal for 60 mln more doses of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine

Turkey has finalized a deal to buy 60 million more doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine, with an option for an additional 30 million doses.

"This second supply agreement brings the total number of doses to be supplied to Turkey to up to 120 million, all of which will be delivered in 2021," according to a statement issued by BioNTech on May 20.

COVID-19 death toll rises by 54 to 29,716 in past 24 hours

A number of 54 persons - 30 men and 24 women - infected with SARS-CoV-2 have died in the past 24 hours, according to data sent, on Wednesday, by the Strategic Communication Group (GCS). One death was recorded in the 40-49 years old category, four in the 50-59 years old category, 13 in the 60-69 years old category, 19 in the 70-79 years old category, and 17 in the over 80 years old category.
