North Korea Accused of Hacking Pfizer for Covid-19 Vaccine Info

North Korea attempted to steal Covid-19 vaccine technology from US pharmaceutical company Pfizer, according to South Korean intelligence officials.

It is currently unclear as to what, if any, data was stolen.

South Korea's National Intelligence Agency privately briefed lawmakers about the alleged attack, reported local news agency Yonhap.

EU Admits Vaccines' Supply Shortages

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has admitted the EU was late to authorise Covid-19 vaccines and "we're still not where we want to be".

She also acknowledged the EU had been overconfident about production targets being met amid delays at factories.

Mrs von der Leyen has come under fire for the EU's slow vaccine rollout.

EU finalizes second deal with Pfizer for 300 mln vaccine doses

The European Union has finalized a deal with Pfizer and BioNTech for the supply of an additional 300 million doses of their Covid-19 vaccine, a European Commission spokesman told Reuters on Monday.

The EU secured 300 million Pfizer doses in November last year and announced a preliminary deal for 300 million more shots on Jan. 8, subject to talks about the terms of the new contract.
