It has been almost a year since the first cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Southeast and Central Europe, and with the start of vaccination, which began in some countries in December, the region is awaiting a return to normal life.

However, that return to normality is not yet in sight as the number of new confirmed cases of infection continues to escalate.

Nearly 30,000 vaccines have been administered in Bulgaria in the three days since Prime Minister Boyko Borissov ordered that "green lanes" should open for anyone willing to be inoculated against the coronavirus.  The authorities report the public is showing a strong interest in getting vaccinated.

By comparison, he pointed out that 4,200 were vaccinated from December 27 to this weekend, with 1,250 with a second dose.

Parallel with the fourth phase of the vaccination plan we have to open additional vaccination slots, so-called "green corridors" for all willing to be inoculated against Covid-19, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov ordered at today's working meeting, with representatives of the National Operational Headquarters, vaccination task force and health minister.

As Blic writes, we are entering that fourth wave because of another wave that affected the whole of Serbia - the wave of irresponsibility that arrived at the worst moment.

U.S. President Joe Biden announced plans to vaccinate most Americans by the end of July with the help of 200 million newly acquired doses, as the country's inoculation campaign kicked off a new phase in drugstores and supermarket pharmacies, some of which will offer shots as of Feb. 12.
