29 year-old serial rapist convicted to 18 years in prison
A male nurse, 29 year-old Andrew Hutchinson, was found guilty and sentenced to 18 years imprisonment for the rape of two unconscious patients, between 2011 and 2013.
Tax evaders searched; over 3-million-euro fraud
Prosecutors and police officers are conducting today 75 domiciliary visits in Bucharest City and the counties of Ilfov, Timis, Calarasi, Buzau, Teleorman, Bacau, Prahova and Ialomita and enforcing 58 summons in a 3-million-euro fraud from tax evasion and money laundering.

Alex Rondos joins seven more accused in trial over “International Centre for Demining” NGO
The Three-member Court of Felony Appeals will be holding a hearing on the case of NGO “International Centre for Demining”. The hearing will include a total of eight members, including Alex Rondos, formerly a close associate of former PM George Papandreou. Their trial was decided by the Athens Board of Appeals.
Sofia Court Freezes Property of Ex Parliament Deputy Speaker worth over BGN 1M
The Sofia City Court has impounded property worth BGN 1 555 883 owned by former Deputy Speaker of Parliament Hristo Biserov and his stepson, Ivaylo Glavinkov.
The measure was requested by the Commission for Illegal Assets Forfeiture (CIAF), according to reports of the BGNES news agency.
Defendants' lawyers resign in Proton trial
The trial of former Proton Bank Chairman Lavrentis Lavrentiadis and another 42 people ran into problems Friday as the lawyers of all 43 defendants resigned from the case over a legal technicality. This means the court will have to appoint new lawyers for the trial to continue.

US drone strike on Al-Qaeda kills two hostages, Obama takes responsibility
U.S. President Barack Obama said April 23 he takes "full responsibility" for a U.S. counterterrorism mission that inadvertently killed an American and an Italian held hostage by al-Qaeda. He defended the legality of the January drone strike against an al-Qaeda compound and said there had been no information suggesting the hostages were at that location.

US President Barack Obama has said the White House believes a US counterterrorism operation against Al-Qaeda "accidentally killed" two hostages, an American and an Italian.
The American was Dr Warren Weinstein, held by militans since 2011, while Giovanni Lo Porto, an Italian, was taken hostage in 2012.

Bulgaria MPs Reschedule Agenda before Armenian 'Genocide' Vote
Lawmakers in Bulgaria's Parliament have moved to change the agenda of their vote on Friday, when they are to adopt a stance on the mass killings of Armenians by the Ottoman Empire in 1915.
With a number of states describing the events as "genocide" and Turkey disputing this, the Bulgarian legislature was to work on a position.

Alleged terrorist arrested in Paris
A 24 year-old Franco-Algerian, accused of planning a terrorist attack against “one or two churches” was arrested in Paris on Sunday, according to the French Interior Minister, who underlined that terrorism is still a threat.
