Crime Group Involved in Property Fraud and Extortion of Elderly People Dismantled Today

There have been three cases and three attempts at property fraud through extortion of elderly people, Deputy Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev told a press briefing on today's police raid in Orlandovtsi quarter, a Focus News Agency reporter said.

Convicted robber escapes police custody

Police officers launched a manhunt on Monday evening to locate a man who escaped from the Exarcheia police station in central Athens, where he was being held.

The 39-year-old escapee, identified as a Greek national, had three robbery convictions.

According to information, the suspect asked to go to the toilet and, while being taken, pushed the officer aside and fled.

Four convicts break out of Peloponnese prison

A manhunt was launched on Wednesday after four convicts escaped from an agricultural prison near Nafplio in the Peloponnese.

According to reports, the absence of the four inmates -two Albanians, an Egyptian and a Moroccan - became apparent during the daily roll call at noon. It was not immediately clear how and at what time the convicts made their escape.
