Israeli warplanes heavily bombarded an area around Khan Younis in southern Gaza on Monday as the military ordered mass evacuations from the town in the face of a widening ground offensive that is pushing Palestinians into a progressively shrinking portion of the besieged territory.

They are demanding a ceasefire and an end to Israel's "genocidal bombing" of civilians in Gaza.
Wearing black T-shirts with the slogans "Jews demand a cease-fire" and "Not in our name", the protesters unfurled banners at the foot of the famous New York monument that read "The whole world is watching" and "Palestinians should be free", according to Voice of America.

Israeli drones struck targets in a stronghold of militants in the occupied West Bank early Monday and hundreds of troops were deployed in the area, an incursion that resembled the wide-scale military operations carried out during the second Palestinian uprising two decades ago. Palestinian health officials said at least three Palestinians were killed.

Hundreds of Israeli settlers stormed into a Palestinian town in the occupied West Bank on Wednesday, setting fire to dozens of cars and homes to avenge the deaths of four Israelis killed by Palestinian gunmen the previous day, residents said. Palestinians said one man was killed in the violence.

Türkiye condemned the Israeli raids that killed at least nine Palestinians in the West Bank on Jan. 26.

"I condemn in the strongest terms the vile attacks of Israel, which trampled international law by murdering nine innocent people with its attack on the Jenin Refugee Camp," Parliament Speaker Mustafa Şentop said on Jan. 27.

The Israeli army said Monday there was a "high possibility" that a soldier killed a well-known Al Jazeera journalist in May, as it announced the results of its investigation into the killing. But it said the shooting was accidental and no one would be punished.

The United Nations said on June 24 it found that Israeli forces fired the shot that killed Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, with Israel swiftly branding the UN's findings unfounded.
