Croatia Expects Record Level of Tourism Income
“We expect that this year’s income from tourism will for the first time exceed the record high of 7.4 billion euro in 2008,” a tourism ministry representative told BIRN on Tuesday.
According to official data, the number of foreign and domestic tourists over the past five months increased by 74,000 on 2013 figures, reaching 2.1 million.

Croatia Seeks to Boost Oil and Gas Extraction
Vrdoljak told an energy conference in Zagreb on Tuesday that Croatia was preparing an international tender for onshore gas and oil exploration in addition to its current open tender for offshore exploration in the Adriatic Sea.
“There are 40 companies interested in the Adriatic seabed. By September, a lot of other prominent oil companies will come to Croatia,” he said.
