Fears for French baguettes as power prices burn bakers
Recently described as "250 grams of magic and perfection" by President Emmanuel Macron, the French baguette is at risk from surging energy prices, with some bakers warning they can no longer afford to fire up their ovens.

Big business for Chipita in Indian market
Food company Chipita's consortium with Indian peer Britannia Industries foresees revenues of some 26.65 million euros in the first three years of operation in India and a 25 percent market share from the packaged croissant to be produced in the subcontinent.

Bulgaria's Largest Bread Manufacturer Granted EUR 14 M Investment Loan
Societe Generale Expressbank and the ?Regional Urban Development Fund" AD have granted an 8-year investment loan of over EUR 14 M to Plovdiv-based bread and bakery products manufacturer Simid Agro EOOD under the Joint European Support for Sustainable Investment in City Areas (JESSICA) initiative.
