Bulgaria and Turkey Collaborate to Strengthen Border Security

In a proactive move to bolster security along their shared border, Bulgaria and Turkey have initiated a joint project aimed at enhancing law enforcement capacities and cooperation. The endeavor, funded through the 2021-2027 Interreg VI-A IPA Bulgaria-Turkey Cross-border Cooperation Programme, has been announced by the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works.

New border crossing point, opened at Moldova Noua, at border with Serbia

A new border crossing point was opened on Friday, in Caras-Severin County, on the border with Serbia, authorities estimating that the waiting time for border check will be considerably shortened, because it will take over part of the flow of people who have so far crossed the border between the two states, the Interior Ministry (MAI) announced on Friday.

46 out 48 Projects Successfully Completed Within the Cooperation between Bulgaria and Macedonia

46 projects have been successfully completed in the past 2018 from the 48 project proposals financed under the first call for cooperation between Bulgaria and Macedonia, Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Petya Avramova said at the ceremony for the award of contracts for the cross-border cooperation programme between Bulgaria and Northern Macedonia, Focus News Agency

31 Projects on the Cross-Border Program with Serbia Have Been Approved

31 projects will receive a total of over EUR 8 million for the second call for the INTERREG-IPP Bulgaria-Serbia cross-border program 2014-2020, the regional ministry announced.

The funds are for initiatives to create sustainable tourism, youth support and environmental care.

Further € 109 m Will Be Invested in Border Region between Bulgaria and Romania

Further € 109 million will be invested under the Interreg V-A Romania-Bulgaria 2014-2020 Programme in the border region between the two countries. This became clear at the tenth meeting of the European Cross-Border Programme Monitoring Committee, which took place in Bulgaria's old capital Veliko Turnovo on 22nd of March.

BUDAPEST - Serbian European Integration Minister Jadranka Joksimovic met with Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto in Budapest on Friday to discuss bilateral cooperation in Serbia's EU accession process - in particular Hungary's expert support, regional issues, the Danube Strategy and cross-border cooperation.

Nearly EUR 7 Million will be Invested in the Border Region Between Bulgaria and Macedonia

€ 6.9 million will be invested in the border region between Bulgaria and Macedonia. This was announced by the press center of the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works (MRDPW). The funds are earmarked to finance projects under the second call for proposals under the Interreg - IPA Program for cross-border cooperation between the two countries with the MRDPW managing authority.
