Turkey will offer subsidies to A-group tourism operators of cruise ships bringing foreign tourists into the country in a bid to bolster visitor numbers which have fallen sharply due to a series of bomb attacks of 2016. 

Global cruise travel is continuing to grow at a steady pace around the world. The Cruise Line International Association (CLIA) predicts that over the course of this year 25.8 million passengers will board cruise ships for ocean bound vacations, 1.1 million more than last year.

There has been a dramatic decrease in the number of passengers on cruise ships visiting Greek ports, according to the latest available data. The numbers suggest that the instability in Turkey has led to fewer cruises in the Aegean.
