Global cruise travel is continuing to grow at a steady pace around the world. The Cruise Line International Association (CLIA) predicts that over the course of this year 25.8 million passengers will board cruise ships for ocean bound vacations, 1.1 million more than last year.

A Greek navy helicopter transported a patient on board a cruise ship who was in need of medical assistance to the Kalamata airport. An Aegean Hawk type S70B collected the man from the Maltese cruise ship MEIN SCHIFF 3 Sea Hawk and transferred him to the Kalamata airport where he was picked by the an ambulance.

Cruise operators eyeing Piraeus port upgrade

Greek port representatives and cruise operators presented ambitious and detailed plans to large and small cruise company representatives in dozens of one-to-one meetings at a global fair in Florida in the United States last week. What's more, this is in a year when cruise ship calls are set to drop 30 percent in Greece, along with a 10-15 percent drop in passengers.
