Greek current account deficit shrinks in November, tourism revenues rise

Greece's current account deficit shrank in November 2017 compared to the same month a year earlier on the back of a lower trade gap, the Bank of Greece said on Monday.

Central bank data showed the deficit at 0.954 billion euros from a deficit of 1.25 billion euros in November 2016.

Tourism revenues rose to 225 million euros from 222 million in the same month a year earlier.

Current account deficit widens in October

Greece's current account deficit widened in October compared to the same month a year ago, according to balance of payments figures released by the Bank of Greece on Thursday.

Central bank data showed the deficit at 624 million euros from a deficit of 268 million in October 2016.

Tourism revenues rose to 1.167 billion euros from 1.023 billion in the same month a year earlier.

Greek current account surplus widens in August, tourism revenues rise

Greece's current account surplus rose in August compared to the same month a year ago due to a stronger services balance, the Bank of Greece said on Monday.

Data released by the bank showed the surplus at 1.827 billion euros ($2.15 billion) from 1.664 billion euros in August 2016.

Tourism revenues rose to 3.52 billion euros from 3.02 billion in the same month a year earlier.

Turkey's current account deficit widens in July

Turkey's current account deficit reached $5.1 billion in July 2017, up almost $2.7 billion year-on-year, official data showed on Sept. 15.      

The current account deficit recorded $5.1 billion, marking an increase of $2.7 billion compared to July of the previous year, bringing the 12-month rolling deficit to $37.1 billion, the Central Bank stated.      

Greek current account deficit widens in May, tourism revenues rise

Greece's current account deficit grew in May compared to the same month a year earlier due to wider trade and primary income gaps, the Bank of Greece said on Friday.

The data showed the deficit at 582 million euros ($677.6 million) from 457 million euros in May 2016.

Tourism revenues rose slightly to 1.094 billion euros from 1.075 billion in the same month a year earlier.
