Koufonisia bans raft of recreational water activities
Authorities have imposed a ban on just about all water recreational activities except for swimming on Koufonisia in the interest of public safety and preservation of the two eastern Cyclades islets.
The ban announced by Rear Admiral Alexios Apostolopoulos, the Naxos harbor master, concerns the use of both motorized and non-motorized activity around Ano and Kato Koufonisi.
Paros residents reclaim beaches
More than 250 residents on Paros defied the uncontrolled spread of privately run loungers and umbrellas on the popular Cycladic island's coasts on Sunday, demanding space to put down their towels.

Luxury holiday home prices at decade high
Sale prices for holiday homes on the popular islands of the Cyclades are on a decade high, as the losses recorded in previous years have been more than covered.
The trend is upward and will remain so in the near future, according to this year's Holiday Home Price Watch, curated by Geoaxis, a company of certified real estate valuers.
