Cost of baby formula is steep
Parents in Greece pay for baby formula up to three times as much as in other European countries including countries like Finland and Sweden, according to a price survey carried out in November in three price collections by Greece's Competition Commission, a finding that shows that the market in question is anything but operating competitively in Greece.

The prices of baby formula in Greece are significantly higher compared to other European countries, based on a price comparison survey carried out by the country's Hellenic Competition Commission in November.
Milk remains an expensive commodity in Greece
The price of fresh cow's milk in Greece remains higher than in other European Union countries.
Greeks seem to pay more for milk compared to other Europeans, as the Competition Commission has found in recent market research examining the price of fresh low-fat milk at online supermarkets in Greece and in 17 EU countries.

Israel set to request Greek milk imports
Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich signed an order to lift customs tax on imported milk for three months to deal with a milk shortage, the Israeli Finance Ministry said on Thursday.
This is expected to lead to sales of Greek milk to the country.

Milk and milk products productions slightly increases
The amount of cow's milk collected by dairy enterprises increased by 2.4 percent in April compared with the same month of the previous year and increased by 3.5 percent in the January-April period compared with the same period of the previous year, according to data announced yesterday by the Turkish Statistical Agency (TÜİK).

Some 9.6 mln tons of cow milk collected in 2019
Turkey collected 9.56 million tons of cow's milk in 2019, the country's statistical authority revealed on Feb. 12.
The 2019 figure slipped 4.7 percent compared to the previous year, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) said in a statement.
The country produced 1.5 million tons of drinking milk last year, indicating a 7.3 percent annual drop.
