In a triumphant return to Varna, the Bulgarian naval research vessel Sv. Sv. Kiril i Metodii (RSV 421) completed its 32nd expedition to Antarctica. Welcomed with an official ceremony attended by esteemed dignitaries including Flotilla Admiral Boyan Mednikarov and Prof. Christo Pimpirev, the ship's return marked a successful mission.

The World Chess Federation (FIDE) has confirmed a decision to suspend Bulgaria's international activity in chess, Dnevnik.bg has reported.

The announcement, made at the 87th FIDE Congress in Baku, upholds the vote of the European Chess Union to expel the Bulgarian body.

The Bulgarian Chess Federation has been expelled from the European Chess Union during a meeting in Baku.

The decision was supported by 37 of the members of the management; 11 voted against.

The Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) has elected Stefan Danailov, a cinema actor who rose to fame in iconic Bulgarian productions and some foreign titles, as a deputy to newly elected leader Korneliya Ninova.
