After Microsoft and Digital Realty, France's Data 4 is entering the Greek market of data centers.

Data 4 has established a subsidiary and is looking for a manager who will undertake the design and construction of its data center in Greece, while a Canadian group is also eyeing the domestic market.

With the leaps that the pandemic brought to the digital transformation, the needs for data storage in Greece, but also in the wider region of Southeastern Europe, are constantly increasing. Data centers are evolving into one of the most promising markets in the country, upgrading the prospects for the development of a regional data hub in the wider region.

At the moment Greece is unveiling the 5G communications network, on the opposite end of Europe, a Greek professor, a communications engineer, is getting a grant from the European Research Council to develop 6G.

Equinix officially opened its second data center in Bulgaria and the event was attended by US Ambassador to Bulgaria Eric Rubin. The investment amounts to $ 19 million.

The new data centre is the second facility the firm will have in the country's capital once the first phase of the quick build-out is completed next year.
