Allies should encourage Sweden, Finland to meet Turkey’s security needs: FM

NATO allies should encourage Finland and Sweden to take concrete steps regarding Turkey's concerns about the "support given to terror groups," Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said on May 27.

The minister reminded that Turkey's opposition to Finland and Sweden's NATO bid is due to their "support to terrorist organizations."

President Erdoğan rebuffs 'pressure' by social media companies

Erdogan: Merkel and Macron will Visit Istanbul

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said German and French leaders will visit Istanbul next week for talks on the migration crisis, local media quoted by the BBC reports.

Erdogan told reporters on his plane back from Brussels that he, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron "will meet in Istanbul next Tuesday", Anadolu news agency reported.

Turkey slams European Parliament over PKK event

Turkey condemned the European Parliament on Feb. 5 for holding an event attended by the ringleaders of the PKK terror group and its supporters.

Turkey strongly condemned the "unofficial event, which also ignores the principle of fighting terrorist organizations without discrimination," the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
