A Latvian court recognized the Thumbs-Up Emoji as Written Consent
A civil panel of the Riga District Court has ruled that the thumbs-up palm emoji in official correspondence can be interpreted as written consent, Latvian publication Delfi reported.
Latvia Banned Celebrations on May 9 except for Europe Day
On Thursday, April 20, in two readings, the Saeima of Latvia adopted a law "On the ban on holding certain public events on May 9", banning all celebrations and celebrations on that day, with the exception of Europe Day events. When for such public events a permit issued by the municipal authorities is required, but in the text this right is taken away from them.
Latvia: If Ukraine Loses, We are Next
Latvian Defense Minister Artis Pabriks called on the partners to increase support for Ukraine so that they do not have to defend Latvia later, the Delfi portal reported.
"Ukraine is now fighting our war - and if it loses, the next one will come and we will pay the price for it," Pabriks said. He added that the allies did not understand this.

Lithuanian President, Parliament Approve Reintroducing Military Conscription
Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite signed on Monday a legal amendment, which reintroduces military conscription in the country.
The bill had already been approved on Thursday with an overwhelming majority at Lithuania's Seimas with 112 MPs voting in favour, the National Radio and Television informs.
