Turkish security forces have "neutralized" 13 PKK terrorists in northern Iraq, the country's Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.

The terrorists were detected in the Gara and Haftanin regions of northern Iraq and "neutralized" in airstrikes, said the ministry on X.

Turkish intelligence has "neutralized" two PKK terrorists who were poised to launch an attack in the Turkish Armed Forces' operational zone in northern Iraq.

Defense Ministry said Saturday it launched airstrikes in the Gara, Qandil and Asos regions of northern Iraq on Friday, destroying 25 targets belonging to the PKK terror group.

A total of 15 PKK members have been "neutralized" in Iraq and Syria, the Defense Ministry said on July 26.

Turkish authorities use the term "neutralize" to indicate that the individuals in question have surrendered, been killed or captured.

According to a statement from the ministry, 11 of them were "neutralized" in northern Iraq's Qandil, Assos, Gara and Hakurk regions.

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has called for the eradication of the PKK from Syria and Iraq.

"We need to fight [against the PKK], take the oil and energy resources from its hands and give them back to the Syrian people," Fidan said during an interview with Sky News Arabia on July 24.

Turkish security forces on June 3 destroyed more than 30 targets used by the PKK terror group in an air operation in northern Iraq, according to National Defense Ministry.

The PKK has blown up ammunition depots in the villages of Dergele and Miska in northern Iraq, the Defense Ministry said on July 3.

"Disregarding the lives of villagers, the terrorists blew up the ammunition depots and completely set fire to the village of Dergele," the ministry said in a written statement.

The National Intelligence Organization (MİT) has neutralized Ali Dinçer, the PKK's leader in Syria's Jazira region, who was wanted by Interpol with a red bulletin, according to media reports.

The operation was carried out in the Qamishli region, resulting in the elimination of Dinçer, who had been under long-term surveillance by MİT, daily Hürriyet said.

Germany considers the PKK terrorist organization as one of the most foremost threats to the country due to its extensive illegal activities related to recruitment and extortion, Berlin's domestic intelligence organization has said.

Turkish security units "neutralized" three terrorists identified as members of the PKK terrorist organization in northern Iraq, the Defense Ministry has announced.
