Official results of early parliamentary elections in Kosovo have not yet been announced, with two leading parties, the Vetvendosje and the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), not yet agreed on key positions in the future government, with media claiming that part of the coalition agreement is that Isa Mustafa should replace Hashim Thaci.

The Center for European Policy Analysis (CEPA) additionally states that the appointment of a new U.S. Envoy to restart talks between Kosovo and Serbia provides fresh impetus for a final resolution to one of the most intractable regional problems, the author Janusz Bugajski wrote.

The two former opposition parties that won most votes in Kosovo's recent parliamentary elections have expressed willingness to reach a coalition agreement, four days after the voters elected a new parliament.

Talks on forming a new government in Kosovo are due to start soon after the opposition Vetevendosje party came first in Sunday's snap parliamentary elections.

The party has made clear it wishes to seek to form a coalition government with another former opposition party, the Democratic League of Kosovo, LDK.

The New York Times states that, ever since Kosovo ended its war with Serbia two decades ago, its dominant political figures have all been men who rose to prominence as fighters and held onto power despite failing to secure the lasting peace and preceding over a floundering economy, as Radio Free Europe reports.

Kurti stated that from today he is starting to work on creating a new Government with him as Prime Minister.
"We have worked hard, we have been engaged for a long time, but it all pays off because every sacrifice is worth for our beloved citizens. We considered it our obligation and we will get the country back on the right track", Kurti said.

He told Prva TV in the morning program that the BBC's prognosis was realistic and that four parties would enter Kosovo Parliament - Isa Mustafa's Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Albin Kurti's Vetvendosje, Hashim Thaci's Democratic Party of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj's Alliance for the Future of Kosovo.

Kosovo's two biggest parties - the Democratic Party of Kosovo, PDK, of parliament speaker Kadri Veseli and Isa Mustafa's Democratic League of Kosovo, LDK, will run alone, as will Vetevendosje, or Self-Determination, led by Albin Kurti. If LDK wins, Kosovo will get its first female prime minister in Vjosa Osmani.

According to "Blic" report, carried by Tanjug, it does not mean that the deadline will not be extended as many times before, but the "Kosovo issue" is being pushed in that direction. Hashim Thaci's party is worse off than ever, and if the West plays to other options, negotiations over the fate of Kosovo and Metohija could change drastically, according to "Blic".

Lawmakers in Kosovo passed a no-confidence motion on Thursday in the government of outgoing Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, setting the clock ticking to an early parliamentary election within the next 45 days.
