Weather to turn from Monday night, with storms spreading across country

The unseasonably good weather is to take a turn for the worse with rain and storms forecast to begin in the northwest of the country on Monday and spread across the country over the coming days.

According to the National Meteorological Service (EMY), there will be hailstorms in parts too and stormy winds of between six and nine Beaufort.

Showers, thunderstorms to sweep into country from northwest

Strong showers and thunderstorms are expected to sweep into northwestern Greece on Tuesday night, spreading to Thrace, the northern and eastern Aegean, and the islands of the Dodecanese on Wednesday, the Hellenic National Meteorological Service (HNMS) said on Tuesday.

Athens is not expected to experience any strong showers.
