Serbian telecom bids for OTE's Albanian subsidiary

Serbia's state-run Telekom Srbija has made an offer to acquire Telekom Albania as it looks to expand in the Balkans, the Belgrade-based Vecernje Novosti reported on Monday, citing sources.

Telekom Albania has a 39 percent market share in Albania's telecommunications sector and is 99.79 percent owned by Greece's OTE.

OTE core profit grows in second quarter

Greece's biggest telecoms operator OTE said on Thursday its second-quarter core profit rose by 1.6 percent, helped by a recovery in its home market.

The company, which is 45 percent owned and managed by Germany's Deutsche Telekom, reported EBITDA of 319 million euros compared to 313.9 million euros in the same quarter a year earlier.

Cosmote named fastest mobile network in Greece

Cosmote has been named the fastest network for mobile internet in Greece again this year, taking the title for "Greece's Fastest Mobile Network 2018" in the SpeedTest Awards presented by Ookla, a global leader in internet testing and analysis.

The Cosmote mobile network's download speed is 68 percent faster than the second-placed provider.

Bulgaria's Allterco Robotics Joins Deutsche Telekom's Startup Innovation Programme

SOFIA (Bulgaria), July 17 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian IoT company Allterco Robotics, a wholly-owned subsidiary of telecommunications services provider Allterco [BUL:A4L] said on Tuesday it has joined Deutsche Telekom's Hub:raum programme for mentoring startups with innovative business ideas.

OTE raises 400 mln via four-year bond issue

OTE, Greece's biggest telecoms operator, said it raised 400 million euros from a four-year bond issue.

It completed the note issue on Wednesday via a bookbuilding process and said it was oversubscribed by about five times.

The coupon was set at 2.375 percent, the lowest that OTE has achieved in the last decade, it said in a statement on Thursday.
