“You can try flying, singing, having sex – it’s better than VR”

E-book penetration still trails that of printed books by a wide margin across the globe

Ljubljana – Smartphones and laptops have become the key channels for consuming media content. That is the main finding of the latest media consumption survey, conducted by the pollsters Valicon and Iprom in February and March. Slovenians consume media content, especially news media, to a significantly greater degree than in 2018.

Ljubljana – Digital journalism in Slovenia is on the rise and is no longer only an additional channel. Working online has its specifics and brings new dilemmas, one of them being the attitude to social networks, sharing contents and communicating with followers, agreed participants in a panel on contemporary trends in journalism on Thursday.

The "Agriculture" State Fund announced a tender for projects for the building up broadband Internet network in villages and small towns in Bulgaria. A separate budget worth of BGN 82 million  is allocated for financing of the projects. These are funds provided under the Rural Development Program and the aim of the projects is to achieve 100% coverage of the country with fast internet.

With theaters closed due to Covid, actors and audiences must settle for virtual encounters from separate worlds through live-streaming. "You may have a big audience in many parts of Greece, but the silence is disconcerting," says Yiannis Stankoglou, one of four actors currently appearing in live-streamed plays who were interviewed by Kathimerini.

Maribor – The international festival of art, technology and science Kiblix this year explores virtual worlds and because of the epidemic it is being held in a new hybrid form. Organised by the Kibla centre, the 2020 festival focuses on the human experience of virtual worlds, which have become so important this year because of coronavirus.

The Family, Labor and Social Services Ministry has taken legal action against four YouTube accounts broadcasting animations with child abuse contents.
The videos posted on the platform have had many views, ranging from 300,000 to 4 million.
