The Acropolis Museum has refuted reports that coins were removed from its excavation site on August 22.

Italian soul and jazz singer Mario Biondi, known for his mellow baritone that harks back to the sounds of the 70s, will be appearing at the Herod Atticus Theater on Saturday, September 28. Hailed as an Italian Barry White, the 48-year-old artist has shared the stage with greats such as Ray Charles and worked beside the likes of Chaka Kahn, Michael Bolton, Incognito and The Crusaders.

The Animals frontman Eric Burdon is set to perform at the Odeon of Herod Atticus. The soulful rock musician best known for the iconic song "The House of the Rising Sun," has spent three-quarters of his life entertaining audiences across the globe. In addition to The Animals, Burdon has worked with funk rock band War and also began a solo career in 1971. The concert begins at 9 p.m.

The Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and Athens State Orchestra join forces for a rock celebration like no other. Hear rock anthems by AC/DC, Pink Floyd and the Rolling Stones performed by the talented symphony musicians, accompanied by special guests Ray Wilson of Genesis and Uli Jon Roth of the Scorpions.

When you read about all the work that needs to be done as a matter of urgency around the Acropolis, you wonder how the situation was tolerated for as long as it's been. 

The string quartet of the Athens State Orchestra will be performing works by Bach, Beethoven and Brahms in the stunning setting of the Acropolis Museum's Parthenon Gallery from 6 p.m. on Wednesday, October 31. Admission to the event is free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis.
