Greek goddesses at Dior couture show

There were no frills or heels for Christian Dior as the label took over the Rodin Museum in Paris on July 3, putting on a fitting homage to Greek goddesses for the opening day of haute couture week.

The show opened with a long white woolen dress and matching cape, while other designs used pleats to evoke classical-era statues.

Sci-fi Dior show boldly puts focus on 'real clothes'

Dior put on an austere sci-fi spectacle at Paris Fashion Week on June 23 that wowed the audience with models rising unexpectedly out of hidden trapdoors.

Despite the impressive gimmick, Dior's creative director Kim Jones told AFP the stark, metallic set design was aimed at putting the focus on the outfits --not always the case in the publicity-hungry world of high fashion.

Dior channels ancient Greece for Cruise collection

French fashion house Dior will unveil its 2022 Cruise collection on Thursday, the first large show with spectators since the start of the Covid pandemic, at the site of the first modern Olympic Games in Athens.    

Cruise collections fall between usual spring/summer and autumn/winter collections - and French houses often visit other countries for the launch.     

Dior adored Greece in a magical show in Kallimarmaro

Dozens of models paraded on Thursday in Kallimarmaro, wearing the creations of the French house Dior. The long-awaited event started as scheduled at 9:30 pm.

Celebrities from the fashion industry were present and rebroadcast the event from their mobile phones. The catwalk consisted only of women who presented the clothes of the Cruise 2022 collection.
