Scientists have raised objections to a new earthquake hazard map updated by the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency of Turkey (AFAD) over concerns that the map did not revise risk areas accurately.

4.8-magnitude earthquake hits Turkey's Bodrum
A 4.8-magnitude earthquake hit the Aegean resort of Bodrum on Aug. 13, according to the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD).
Bodrum has been struck by earthquakes lately, with the most recent having a 5.1-magnitude on Aug. 8.
The 5.1-magnitude earthquake came less than three weeks after the Aegean resort was rattled by a 6.6-magnitude earthquake.

3 killed, 2 Injured After Yacht Carrying 11 Capsizes off Turkey's Marmaris
Three people died after boat carrying 11 people, including the captain capsized off Turkey's southern Muğla coast, reports said Wednesday, quoted by Daily Sabah.
Eight people who were on the capsized boat, named Anemone, have reportedly been rescued, two of whom were injured.
The incident took place near the seaside town of Bozburun in Marmaris.
Turkish citizenship to be granted to 7,000 Syrians
Turkish citizenship will be granted to a total of 7,000 Syrians after months of work on the issue.
Preparatory work on the issue was completed two weeks ago and the executive order on granting citizenship to 7,000 Syrians was presented and opened to signing in the cabinet meeting.

Worker rescued after being trapped underground for one hour in Turkey's Denizli
A worker was rescued after 1.5 hours of being trapped underground following a landslide in a construction site in the Aegean province of Denizli on June 12, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.
Behnur Elmas was trapped by a landslide while he was installing geothermal heat pipes in Denizli's Sarayköy district at 6:30 p.m. on June 12.
