"Britain's exit from EU structures without a deal has not yet been removed as an opportunity and is a real danger." Brussels chief negotiator Michel Barnier said in Brexit talks, The Independent and Focus reported.

As the UK prepares for early elections on December 12, Barnier said future trade talks could be "difficult and "demanding".

The European Council announced its approval of a new postponement for the UK's withdrawal from the European Union by 31 January next year. The decision was formalized "through a written procedure" after the prior agreement of the ambassadors of EU countries was expressed yesterday.

The European Union agreed to a Brexit delay of up to three months on Oct. 29, as Prime Minister Boris Johnson said he would push on with his bid to end Britain's political paralysis with an election on Dec. 12.

The EU agreed to accept the U.K.'s request for a Brexit extension till Jan. 31 of the next year, EU Council President Donald Tusk announced on Oct. 28.

The EU is ready to give the United Kingdom another 3-month grace period for Brexit, according to an expired Brussels document, quoted by the British newspaper Guardian. The text said London could leave the community earlier if parliament ratified the text of the exit agreement.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson called on Oct. 24 for a general election on Dec. 12 to break Britain's Brexit impasse, conceding for the first time he will not meet his "do or die" deadline to leave the European Union.

"The public don't want another referendum. What they want and what they demand is that we honour the promise we made tot the voters to respect the first referendum." This was announced by the Prime Minister of Great Britain in his Twitter feed.

All countries in the European Union approved the postponement of Brexit. For what period, however, it is not clear yet.

European Council President Donald Tusk will recommend the EU leaders to adopt a postponement of Brexit beyond the planned date of 31 October.

Tusk tweeted on Tuesday that he will urge the other 27 EU nations to approve Britain's delay, Associated Press reports.
Britain has sought a three-month delay until the end of January 2020. That was done after Parliament passed a law forcing Prime Minister Boris Johnson to seek the delay.
