Turkey says it’s ready to open consulate in city that Azerbaijan took from Armenian forces
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said his country is ready to open a consulate in Shusha, a city that Azerbaijan took from Armenian forces in a war in 2020.
Erdogan made the comment during a visit to Azerbaijan at the start of his third term in office following presidential elections last month.
Azerbaijani activists protest ‘carrying of weapons through Lachin corridor’
Protesting along Lachin corridor, the road that connects Armenia to Karabakh, as Baku says its mining sites in the region are being illegally exploited by Yerevan, Azerbaijani activists also claim that Armenia is carrying weapons to Khankendi through the corridor.
Azerbaijan fought a six-week war with Armenia for control of the majority-Armenian region of Nagorno-Karabakh in 2020.
Azerbaijan restoring cultural capital Shusha
Shusha, the culture and historical capital of Azerbaijan, was destroyed by Armenian forces during its three-decade-long occupation.
The region was liberated Nov. 8, 2020, after 28 years.

Georgia Condemns Russian Demarcation Activities in South Ossetia
The foreign ministry of Georgia issued on Wednesday a note of protest to Russia over the illegal installation of banners marking the so-called "state border" of the breakaway region of South Ossetia.
Turkey, Azerbaijan begin joint military exercises
Turkish and Azeri armed forces May 12 started joint military exercises in the Azeri capital of Baku and Nakhchivan, the Azeri Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
The exercises would continue until May 17 and were being held within the framework of a military cooperation agreement between Turkey and Azerbaijan, it said.
