Serbian population shrinks by nearly 400,000 over ten years

The Statistical Office of Serbia (RSZ) has announced that a 2.8 percent decrease in the number of marriages was recorded in 2016, compared to 2015.
The number went from 36,949 in 2015 to 35,921 in 2016.

New bill aims to speed up divorce
Justice Minister Stavros Kontonis has put to public consultation a draft bill that will significantly speed up the process of uncontested divorce.
If the legislation is passed, couples that agree to dissolve their union will be able to settle any differences arising from issues such as separation of property, custody and child support, etc, with a simple notarial act.
