The National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) confirmed having identified 101 paintings former Finance Minister Darius Valcov had acquired via go-betweens; the works of art will undergo expert assessment and will be further placed in the custody of a specialist institution that will be able to put them on display.
Romanian Prosecutors Detain Anticorruption Chief
The chief of Romania's National Integrity Agency (ANI) Horia Georgescu has been taken into custody by prosecutors of the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) on Monday.
Georgescu was transferred to the detention facility of Bucharest prison after having been heard at the DNA office, AGERPRES news agency reports.

Annual report of anticorruption prosecutors: over 300 million euros confiscated
The values the Romanian anticorruption body (DNA) has seized in 2014 were over 303 million euros, which is over 13 times the annual budget of the National Anticorruption Directorate, said on Tuesday the DNA Chief Prosecutor, Laura Codruta Kovesi when presenting this body's annual activity Report.

Romanian PM's Relative Detained on Suspicions of Defrauding EU Funds
The brother-in-law of Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta was detained by the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) on Tuesday on suspicions of corruption and defrauding EU funds.
Iulian Hertanu was detained along with two other businessmen after waiting for 17 hours at the DNA headquarters in Ploiesti, AGERPRES news agency reports.
