Ljubljana – Dnevnik reports on Tuesday that after the Slovenian retailer Mercator had been transformed from a joint stock company into a limited liability company at the beginning of the month, the procedure has been launched in the region to merge certain business functions of Mercator and the Croatian retail chain of Konzum.

The Ministry of Health will today order the regional health inspectorates (RHI) to issue a prescription for the wearing of protective masks in medical facilities in the cities with the highest incidence of COVID-19. This was announced by the chief state health inspector Angel Kunchev, quoted by BTA.

Ljubljana – A week of top-level meetings has finally affirmed the conviction that the war in Ukraine will be long, Dnevnik says on Friday as it comments on the EU, G7 and NATO summits.

It believes the country’s PCR testing capacity should have been increased a while ago because the Omicron wave was an expected event.

Ljubljana – The newspaper Dnevnik says the government first said it would heed education workers’ calls for mandatory self-testing to be carried out at home at least for primary school children in years 1-5, but it then adopted a decree under which all school children will have to self-test on school premises as of Wednesday.
