Power company workers repairing the transmission system and cleaning the area last week found human bones on the banks of the river Bosna near flood-stricken Doboj.

Lejla Cengic, of the Institute for Missing Persons, on May 26 said the flood had washed away part of the river bank, which is why the bones became visible.

From sportsmen from Bosnia and Serbia who raised money together to volunteers who went from one part of the country to another to help people, Bosnia’s recent floods have prompted many to put solidarity ahead of ethnic divisions.

The extensive floods in Bosnia-Herzegovina have destroyed key files of local courts and the Prosecution.

RS president: Floods claim six lives in town of Doboj

BELGRADE -- RS President Milorad Dodik said in Belgrade on Saturday that the bodies of six flood victims were found earlier in the morning in Doboj.

Doboj is a town in the Serb entity of Bosnia-Herzegovina (RS) on the Bosna River that is the hardest-hit by the floods.

BANJALUKA - Three people were killed in floods in Republika Srpska (RS), a state of emergency due to flooding was declared in capital Banja Luka, and the situation remains critical in the entirely flooded city of Doboj and town of Samac in the RS north on Friday.

BANJA LUKA, ZAGREB -- Almost the entire territory of the Serb entity in Bosnia, the RS, has been hit by floods, but there are no casualties, Nebojša Radojičić has said.

Landslides around Sarajevo and Tuzla caused by torrential rain have destroyed dozens of homes, while other towns remain flooded, leaving people in need of help with food and water.

Several persons were reported injured when a landslide near Sarajevo destroyed eight houses. Dozens of landslides have occurred in areas round the capital.  

SARAJEVO - Almost the entire territory of Republika Srpska (RS), the Serb entity in Bosnia and Herzegovina, has been hit by floods, but there are no casualties, RS Parliament Speaker Nebojsa Radojicic has said.

Bosnia's state presidency has deployed the armed forces to help people in Maglaj, central Bosnia, many of whom have no power or drinking water and are trapped in their homes by flooding.
