Puppy covered in mud and glue found at point of death in Istanbul

A stray puppy that was left for dead after being covered in glue by children in Istanbul is making a slow recovery, daily Hürriyet has reported.

The puppy was struggling to move and was barely breathing when it was found by locals late last week.

Locals who found the puppy took it to a veterinarian for medical examinations.

The 56-year-old Özbakan, who lives with his 13 dogs in his old minibus parked in Bodrum's industrial site, draws attention for his life.

Demand on rise for Aksaray Malakl?s?

Interest in the Aksaray Malakl?s?, an Anatolian dog breed, has increased after one of these dogs was gifted to President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an during his visit to the central Anatolian province of Aksaray.

Also known as the ?Anatolian lion,? the Aksaray Malakl?s? receives great demand from Turkey and abroad. The puppies of this breed find an owner within a very short time. 

Give a black dog a home (cute canine photos)

Photographer Fred Levy began the “Black Dog Project” when he first heard the stats that show that dark-colored dogs have less chance of adoption than their lighter-colored canines. His mission was to find as many black dogs as possible and photograph these. Some were found via Facebook, others were found at dog shelters.
