Swiss diplomat reunited with her dog after 10 months

Swiss diplomat Martine Berset, who had to leave her dog at the clinic as it was still receiving treatment when her assignment in Ankara ended, has been reunited with her dog after 10 months of separation.

Starting her duty at the Swiss Embassy in the Turkish capital in 2019, Berset opened the doors of her houses to many cats and dogs on the streets.

Crete: Motorist accused of running over dog released

A 63-year-old woman accused of a hit and run involving a dog in Crete on Holy Thursday has been given conditional release after testifying to an investigating magistrate.

The Russian national must report once a month at a local police station and pay a bond of €1,500. She is also prohibited from leaving the country.

Woman killed by pack of dogs in northern Athens

A 68-year-old woman was killed by a pack of dogs in a scrapyard lot in Ano Liosia, northern Athens, on Saturday morning, state broadcaster ERT reported.

The woman was attacked by the dogs outside the mobile home where she lived with her 70-year-old partner. The trailer was parked inside a scrapyard, whose owner, aged 76, has been arrested.
